Market Basket
- There is no official coupon policy at Market Basket, but keep an eye on your store's policy here.
- Market Basket does not double coupons, although they typically have coupons posted throughout the store aisles next to the corresponding item.
- Internet manufacturer coupons are accepted.
- Coupon must have a valid scannable bar code and a valid date to be accepted.
- Market Basket does not accept coupons on mobile devices.
- NEW: There is no Shaws Reward Card. Now everyone can enjoy card-free savings.
- Shaws doubles coupons that have a face value of up to $0.99. Coupons that have a face value of $1.00 or more are redeemed at face value. For example: if a customer purchased five boxes of Cheerios and presented 5 manufacturers’ coupons for $0.50, the first four coupons would be doubled to $1. The fifth coupon would only be redeemed for $0.50. Some manufacturers coupons say "Do not double." In this case, your coupon (regardless of face value) will not be doubled.
- Shaws only doubles four of the same coupon per transaction. You can use more than four of the same coupon, but they will be redeemed at face value and will not double. You may not ring up separate transactions for the purpose of circumventing coupon policies.
Up to an additional 12 identical manufacturers’ coupons/items will be redeemed at face value for a total of 16 identical manufacturers’ coupons. UPDATE: Shaw's Coupon Policy no longer puts a limit on the number of manufacturers' coupons that can be redeemed at face value.- The coupon amount may be reduced so that any combined discounts and coupons (including doubling) do not exceed the value of the item. For example, if you buy paper towels for $0.99 each and you have a coupon for $1.00 off one roll, the coupon will adjusted to $0.99 (the value of the item).
- One manufacturer "buy one get one free" coupon, one mfg “buy two get $XX off” coupon, or one “buy one and get $XX off” coupon may be used with a buy one get one free offer. No other coupons accepted for free or BOGO items.
- Shaws does not double store coupons.

- Competitor coupons are not accepted with the exception of valid Catalina manufacturer coupons for specific item(s) that Shaws carries, and "manufacturer" must be stated on the coupon. Other competitor Catalina store coupons are not accepted.
- Coupon must have a valid scannable bar code and a valid date to be accepted.

- The coupon amount may be reduced so that any combined discounts and coupons (including doubling) do not exceed the value of the item. For example, if you buy paper towels for $0.99 each and you have a coupon for $1.00 off one roll, the coupon will adjusted to $0.99 (the value of the item).

- A Wellness Card (Rite Aid Card) is your ticket to savings. All the sale prices in store and in the circular only take effect when you use your Wellness card. You can sign up for free online at riteaid.com. This is not a credit card, just savings pass.
- By using your Wellness Card, you will often earn +Up Reward "money." This can be used like cash during your next shopping trip. For instance, Colgate toothpaste may be on sale for $3.50 with your Wellness Card. If you buy one, you'll also receive $3.00 in +Up Rewards to be used on your next purchase. It's like paying only $0.50 for the tube of toothpaste. Think of your +Up Rewards like mini gift cards. The key is then to use your +Up Rewards on other products in which you will receive +Up Rewards. So, if I bought the toothpaste (as described above), I could then use the $3.00 +Up Rewards on the same sale later. +Up Rewards DO expire two weeks from the date they are issued. If you use your $3.00 +Up Rewards on an item that is $2.00, the $1.00 you didn't "spend" does not roll over. Be sure to spend the full amount to take advantage of your savings. UPDATE: +Up Rewards now Load2Card (load directly to your Wellness Card) unless you opt out. I recommend that you OPT OUT of this program as you will lose your +Up Rewards if they are not all used in one transaction. By having them print on your receipt you can choose when and how to use them individually.
- +Up Rewards will not be activated until 6 a.m. the following day.
- Rite Aid also features Video Values. By watching short promotional videos for specific products, you can download in-store coupons related to those items. These coupons can be combined with a manufacturer's coupon for better savings. Just a note: you cannot navigate away from the screen when you are watching the video. If you do, the video will pause. At the end, you will have 30 seconds to enter a code on the screen. Once you do, you will be able to print your coupon. These coupons are labeled “Valuable Coupon” and have a UPC that begins with “48.”
- Rite Aid Manufacturer coupons generally appear in the weekly circular, on the website and are sent to customers via email. These coupons are labeled “manufacturer coupon” and have a UPC that begins with “49.”
- Rite Aid accepts Buy One, Get One Free coupons, however only one coupon can be used for each pair of items purchased. You can also use a “cents off” coupon (a coupon of fixed value such as $.50, $1.25, etc.) in conjunction with the item you are purchasing on a Buy One, Get One Free promotion (or with a Buy One, Get One Free coupon).
- Rite Aid accepts two coupon on a Buy One, Get One X% Off promotion. Buy One, Get One Free coupons cannot be used in conjunction with a Buy One, Get One Free or with a Buy One, Get One at a % off promotion.

- Internet manufacturer coupons are accepted.
- Coupon must have a valid scanable bar code and a valid date to be accepted.
- No more than one “48” Rite Aid Valuable coupon, one “49” Rite Aid Manufacturer coupon, and one “5” Manufacturer coupon can be used on a single item.
- An ExtraCare Reward Card is your ticket to savings. All the sale prices in store and in the circular only take effect when you use your reward card. You can sign up for free online at cvs.com. This is not a credit card, just savings pass.
- Use your ExtraCare Reward Card before you shop at what I fondly refer to as "The Magic Coupon Machine." After you scan your card once, continue to scan it until it refuses to print ExtraCare Coupons. These vary and not every coupon listed on couponing sites may print for you.
- By using your ExtraCare Reward Card, you will often earn ExtraBucks Reward "money." This can be used like cash during your next shopping trip. For instance, Colgate toothpaste may be on sale for $3.50 with your ExtraCare Reward Card. If you buy one, you'll also receive $3.00 in ExtraBucks Rewards to be used on your next purchase. It's like paying only $0.50 for the tube of toothpaste. Think of your ExtraBucks Rewards like mini gift cards. The key is then to use your ExtraBucks Rewards on other products in which you will receive ExtraBucks. So, if I bought the toothpaste (as described above), I could then use the $3.00 ExtraBucks on the same sale later. ExtraBucks DO expire two weeks from the date they are issued. NEW: I spoke with an employee at my local CVS store. She said they honor expired ExtraBucks Rewards regardless of the expiration date listed. She said they never expire. She also informed me that they will honor CVS coupons from the Magic Coupon Machine up to two weeks after the listed expiration date. They do NOT accept expired manufacturers' coupons. This could be a CVS Management decision - check with your store before banking on this rule at the checkout counter. If you use your $3.00 ExtraBucks on an item that is $2.00, the $1.00 you didn't "spend" does not roll over. Be sure to spend the full amount to take advantage of your savings.
- In order to meet the spend threshold (Spend $X or more and receive $X ExtraBucks), you only need to reach 98% of the required amount for the ExtraBucks to print. The exception is for “tiered” deals that have two options for the spend amount, such as “spend $20.00 OR spend $10.00.” ExtraBucks will not be triggered until you reach the exact amount or higher for tiered deals.
- CVS does not currently accept coupon bar code images displayed on a smartphone, iPhone, Droid etc.
- There is no limit to the number of ExtraBucks Rewards that may be used in a transaction as long as it does not exceed the transaction total.
- CVS accepts multiple identical coupons for multiple qualifying items as long as there is sufficient stock to satisfy other customers, unless a limit is specified. Management reserves the right to limit the quantity of items purchased.
- The coupon amount may be reduced so that any combined discounts and coupons do not exceed the value of the item. For example, if you buy paper towels for $0.99 each and you have a coupon for $1.00 off one roll, the coupon will adjusted to $0.99 (the value of the item).
- Two coupons may be used on a Buy One, Get One Free promotion as long as it does not exceed the item total. For example, if shampoo is on sale for $2.00 and is Buy One, Get One Free, you may use two $1.00/1 coupons making the shampoo bottles free (must pay applicable tax).
- Buy One, Get One Free promotions may be combined with Buy One, Get One Free Coupons. For example, if shampoo is on sale for $2.00 and is Buy One, Get One Free, you may use a Buy One, Get One Free coupon making the shampoo bottles free (must pay applicable tax).
- One store coupon and one valid manufacturer coupon may be applied to an item. Note: Coupons cannot be applied to a "free" item.
- CVS will not accept percent-off coupons for items already on sale.
- CVS Rainchecks never expire. If you require a raincheck because the item you wish to purchase is not in stock, your raincheck will extend any CVS coupon expiration date that you planned to use with your purchase. Both the CVS coupon and raincheck must be presented at time of purchase. The raincheck will be attached to the CVS coupon by store personnel. Just remember when you request a raincheck to present the coupon you had planned to use with your purchase. Note: CVS cannot accept a third party manufacturer coupon after it has expired; therefore, it cannot be redeemed with your raincheck if it has already expired.
- Internet manufacturer coupons are accepted.
- Coupon must have a valid scannable barcode and a valid date to be accepted.
(Side note: You will notice I rarely shop here. Walgreens typically has the most hoops you have to jump through and more often than not, my items ring up without the sale price reflected. Ye be warned!)
- A Balance Rewards Card is your ticket to savings. All the sale prices in store and in the circular are only in effect when you use your Balance Rewards card. You can sign up for free online at walgreens.com (or in store. You can have an actual card, or a "virtual" card which will simply require you to give your phone number before each transaction). This is not a credit card, just savings pass. Rather than receiving "reward money," like with the CVS and Rite Aid Reward Programs, you receive points. Points expire 36 months from the day you earn them, but they expire sooner if you don't have any account activitity for six months.
- As a Balance Rewards Member you may choose to either redeem earned Points or continue saving Points to use on a future purchase. If Member elects to redeem earned Points, the Points will be converted into Redemption Dollars and the value of the Redemption Dollars will be deducted from the total price of the Member’s purchase.
- Points will not be earned in a transaction where Redemption Dollars or Store Credit is used.
- 5,000 points can be redeemed for $5 store cash, 10,000 points gets you $10, $18,000 points gets you $20, 30,000 gets you $35 and 40,000 gets you $50.
- The coupon amount may be reduced so that any combined discounts and coupons (including doubling) do not exceed the value of the item. For example, if you buy paper towels for $0.99 each and you have a coupon for $1.00 off one roll, the coupon will adjusted to $0.99 (the value of the item).

- The total number or Register Rewards and coupons cannot exceed the number of items purchased.
- Internet manufacturer coupons are accepted.
- Coupon must have a valid scanable bar code and a valid date to be accepted.
- Only original and intact manufacturers’ coupons will be accepted. Retailer-specific coupons will not be accepted.
- Coupons are void if copied, scanned, or if they have been altered in any way.
- Only two (2) print-at-home Internet coupons may be redeemed per transaction.
- We are unable to accept coupons for “Free” items with no purchase requirements or where the amount for the product is blank.
- Coupons can only be used in stores and must be presented at time of purchase. Coupons cannot be redeemed for cash at a later time.
- Coupons will not be accepted without the purchase of the item specified and are subject to the terms listed (e.g. expiration date, size, limitations, quantity, etc.).
- Coupons cannot be redeemed for more than the purchase price of the item.
- Only one (1) manufacturer’s coupon will be accepted per item.
- Management has the right to refuse any coupon or otherwise limit quantities.
