So. I paid $0.05 for all of this. SUPER excited about that and wanted to share. Here's the breakdown:

I started with $15.00 in ExtraBucks from a two previous shopping trips. When I walked into the store I discovered a $3.00 ExtraBucks coupon tucked into the end cap near the Magic Coupon Machine. Yay for Coupon Fairies! There was a little pile of coupons that were going unused, so I grabbed only the ExtraBucks and left the rest. NOTE: The reason the math doesn't add up is because my cashier took off $3.99 for one of the Hot Pockets. Even at the sale price it was $2.29. (it was $1.79 when you bought 10 participating items). I anticipated he would take off $1.79, but he gave me more than double. I went to customer service to give them money back, but she shrugged her shoulders and said to let it be. But she thanked me for my honesty! Lucked out for sure! So I got all three for $1.38!

NOTE 2: The Wisk photobombed this picture. It was actually part of my CVS Couponing Spree, which you can read about here.

Which items did you combine with the "Buy 10 Participating Items, Save $5.00" Mega Sale? I'm thinking about going back for more later :)

Shaws Coupon Matchups

I love couponing. I do. But I have a pet peeve. And it often infuriates me... well, "infuriate" is a strong word. "Annoy" may be more suitable? Anyway. I can't stand it when the "select varieties" that are on sale don't include the "varieties" that I have coupons for. Oy. Why can't they just list the items that are included in the sale in the circular? I could have swiped up seven boxes of cereal today for $0.18 - $0.88 each. But alas, I only got one.

Enough venting - Here's the breakdown of today's shopping spree :)

Sunday Funday!

I've noticed lately that there is this small window of time when you can get some of the best deals in couponing. That window is Sunday. And only Sunday. Why? Because on Sunday brand new circulars come out and several coupons expire. I don't typically make my shopping list on Sunday, so I tend to miss out on these very special deals. For instance. We all got the B3G3 FREE coupon that came out several weeks ago. I've been holding onto it looking for the biggest bang for my buck.

And it was set to expire Sunday.

Well, Sunday rolls around and CVS advertises Renuzits on sale for $1.00 each. PLUS, if you visit their Magic Coupon Machine, you'll get a $1.50/3 coupon, making these just $0.50 each. Pair that with a B3G3 FREE coupon, you get SIX for $1.50, or $0.25 each!

Point in case:

Side note: the Speed Sticks are 2/$3.98 or $1.99 each. If you buy three, you get $3.00 Extra Bucks. I bought three and used a $3.00/2 coupon from the Magic Coupon Machine that spit out several weeks ago (it had no expiration date!). Had I clipped my coupons earlier in the day, I would have had a $1.00/2 coupon to go with it. But I missed it! I still got three deodorants for 2.97 though :)

Grand total for the shopping trip? $4.47. I used $2.00 ExtraBucks from a previous trip, bringing it to $2.47 out of pocket. And I got $3.00 ExtraBucks back! Moneymaker!

My take away this week? Shop early. Shop Sunday.

And the nice thing is, I haven't received any junk mail or email overload from either company. Awesome.

Dollar Tree Finds

Earlier this year, the Dollar Tree started accepting coupons. I haven't visited our local Dollar Tree since we moved, but there's one right by my gym, so I decided to poke around. Glad I did! There are definitely more deals and steals here than there seems to be in the Nashua location:

Five items, all $1.00 (of course)

$1.00 each
Use $1.00/2 coupon = $0.50 each or $0.13 a roll!

Hefty Storage Bags, 13 ct.
$1.00 each
Use $1.00/2 = $0.50 each

Money Making CVS Shopping Trip!

Paid to shop? Oh, yes. I. am. All this for $5.95
out of pocket, plus $7.00 Extra Bucks!
You know your couponing is rubbing off on your husband when he starts saving boxes of cereal that contain anything that resembles a coupon. Love that man. I came home today and box of Honey Comb Cereal was left on the counter - empty. As I walked it to the trash, he called out, "Wait! There's a coupon thingy on that..." There was. A Box Top "coupon."

It'll take some training, but he's getting there! No box goes unsearched for coupons in this house :)

I tell you this story because A. I like to brag about my husband's awesomeness, and B. That's exactly how I managed to score free tissues this week.

Here we go:

Puffs Tissues 48 ct.
Regularly $2.49 on sale for $0.99.
I bought three and used three $1.00/1 coupons

(I found the coupons on the inside of the Puffs Tissue boxes! You know that cardboard circle you peel off before using the tissues? They are on the cardboard so don't throw them away!) = FREE plus $0.03 overage!

Select Dove, Caress, Lever and Degree Products
Buy $15.00, Get $5.00 Extra Bucks
Buy one Dove Men+Care Body and Face Wash, regularly 6.49 on sale for $4.00. Use one $1.00/1 coupon = $3.00
Buy one Dove Body Wash 18-24 oz., regularly $7.99 on sale for $7.50. Use one $1.00/1 coupon = $6.50
Buy one Dove Shampoo, regularly $4.99 on sale for $3.00. Use one $1.00/1 coupon = $2.00

Buy one Dove Conditioner, regularly $4.99 on sale for $3.00
All together = $14.50 plus $5.00 Extra Bucks

A note: There are many different combinations you can use to get your out-of-pocket even lower. My store was out of the Men+Care Shampoo, which messed me up a bit. So I opted to get a larger Body Wash and an extra conditioner - even though I didn't have a coupon - to make up the difference and still get the $5.00 Extra Bucks.

Herbal Essence Products
Buy two, Get $1.00 Extra Buck

Buy one Herbal Essence Shampoo, regularly $4.49 on sale for $2.50
Buy one Herbal Essence Mousse, regularly $4.49 on sale for $2.50

A reminder - you cannot use a $1.00/1 coupon with the BOGO coupon. BOGO coupons apply to two items and, therefore, you cannot use another manufacturer's coupon. You CAN use a store coupon, however.

Speed Stick or Lady Speed Stick Deodorant
Regularly $3.49, on sale for $1.99
Buy two, use $1.00/2 coupon and $2.00/2 CVS store coupon = $0.98 for two!

All Laundry Detergent
Regularly $8.29, on sale for $3.99
Buy one, use $1.00/1 coupon= $1.99

Total After Coupons and $10 Extra Bucks from last trip = $5.95 PLUS $7.00 Extra Bucks!

I plan to return later this week to scoop up the FREE Starbucks Ice Coffee and the FREE first aid kit deal before the end of the week (I just need to scout out some Band-Aid and Neosporin coupons before hitting the sale!)

So - are you finding coupons in obscure places? Please share! And I'd love to hear about any other good deals I may have missed :)

Happy couponing!

Additional Notes:
  • All competitive store item specific coupons must match the exact item being purchased (item, size, count) and must have a valid date printed on the coupon.
  • A competitor 'store' coupon can be stacked with a valid Manufacturer Coupon. However, a Shaw's Store coupon cannot be stacked together with a Competitor store coupon.
  • Basket coupons for example ($5 off $50.00) are acceptable as long as they meet the requirements.
  • Store Director always has the right to limit quantities.
  • Be sure to follow Shaws coupon acceptance policy for competitor coupons accepted.  For example:  An internet competitors coupon for a free item would not be redeemable at Shaws as we do not accept internet coupons on any free items.
